For any portion that counts, yeah. I had a rough patch after high school, but someone came and managed to get me back on track.

And you've never had to hunt?

Nope. I would say I might have grown something, but my Uncle was crap at farming, so I can't even say that was true.

There's land out here if you wanted to give that a try. I can't do anything about the hunting without my bow.

To grow something? I guess I could, but... I've never really thought about it. Green was never my thing, I'm better with gadgets to be honest.

I figured you didn't have it since it didn't get pointed at me when we first met. But that's fine. I can't fire a bow anyways, I'd only bring shame to my family if I tried.

They gave me mine, but not before turning it into a toy. Buttercup has been scratching up the tips of the arrows that came with it. [Almost as if on cue, a disgruntled cat can be heard scampering by in the background.]

Yeah, my phaser didn't last much longer either.

We kiddies need safe toys, don't you know?

You haven't found any real ones?

I'm a civilian, and I'm not actually all that fond of weapons. If I was military, I'm sure I'd get something, but I'm not joining up.

The only one I'd want is a bow. I'd feel safer with one.

Well, I wish you luck. Maybe you can find one in one of the shops somewhere, but I couldn't say where.

Getting underfoot, but alive. [Somehow. The damn cat always found a way.] He... was my sister's. He was wandering the room I woke up in.

Yeah. [Her next words are said more quietly, more thoughtful. Johanna's words when she found out the other Victor from her district had fallen are ringing clearly in her head.] He's from home.

You know the area I live in. I'm still getting used to the city. [Which is intimidating at times. District 12 was no where near this big.]

Well, I'll show you around some time if you want. At the least I can show you were some the more important places like the grocery store.

I've found one and bought some food with the money they gave us. Do they always give us credits like that?

[She's blundered through the whole credit chit process and used some of it to purchase food, but the whole thing is strange to her.]

Well, I think so, but if you want more you'll need to get a job. I'm not sure how long they keep handing them out for.
